About Ragy Emile

Background

Ragy Emile is a technology and cybersecurity leader who has spent his career inside regulated life sciences companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Critical Infrastructure from Regis College, and his work has centered on the intersection of security, compliance, and day-to-day IT operations in environments where pharmaceutical partners, investors, and auditors expect evidence rather than assurances.

He began in IT in 2017 and spent 2018 to 2022 as a part-time IT lead and cybersecurity consultant for small businesses in Massachusetts, including Sina Inc and Breathe Green City, founding ShieldedCyber in 2020 along the way. In 2022 he joined Ultivue, a Boston-area spatial biology company, as Cybersecurity & IT Operations Lead, where he built the identity, device management, and Microsoft 365 security foundations for the organization. When Ultivue merged into Vizgen in 2024, Ragy led the technology and security integration of the two companies and became Head of Information Technology at Vizgen, a spatial genomics company headquartered in Greater Boston.

At Vizgen he owns technology strategy, the security program, and vendor risk management, and regularly represents the company in security reviews with pharmaceutical partners, investors, and auditors. His technical depth is in the Microsoft stack: Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, and the KQL-driven detection and reporting that ties them together.

Ragy founded ShieldedCyber to bring that operator's perspective to Series A and B biotech and life sciences companies that need security leadership before they can justify a full-time security executive. The firm is founder-led and built on a simple premise: the people advising life sciences companies on security should have carried that responsibility themselves.
